At The Waverly Community House, 1115 N. Abington Road, Waverly
In each session, we will explore a fundamental aspect of visual art, and apply it through guided creative expression, using a different medium each week. Supplies will be provided, and light refreshments served. A six week series.
The Art of Seeing:
Using pencil (and eraser!) we will practice the importance of how an artist sees the world, and presents it in a balanced composition.
Lights & Darks:
Using charcoal, we will recognize how shadows and highlights bring forms to life.
World of Color:
Using colored pencils, we will navigate the fundamentals and possibilities of color.
Using watercolor, we will discover the basics of painting faces with ease.
Lay of the Land:
Using acrylic paints, we will look at the qualities of landscapes, and how to translate them artistically.
Focus on Figures
Using mixed media, and the lessons learned through each session, we will consider the human figure and its characteristics.
